Two Novels

These two novels are now being published together. Blue was my first novel, about a young man who loses his mind over drugs, alcohol, mental illness, and grief. In the Flat Field, my second novel, is about grief, loss, and the efforts by two men to come to terms with loss and their desire to change the world, save the environment. One becomes intent on reducing human population on the planet while the other loses himself in a virtual world of women and sex. Blue has a fictional loss although the character never had a normal childhood, which is a form of loss. In the Flat Field is based on the loss of my friend Ann Carter to an overdose, and the story is not only about my grief, and love for a friend, but also was written to help me overcome my grief. Writing can be very healing, and what came out of that process is a story that seems to be completely unrelated to Ann or our friendship. Who knows where these stories come from?
