Monty Mendelsohn is looking forward to leaving Earth and starting a fresh life with a promising career on planet Kuello. But when the company he was to work for is taken over, Monty has to take work as an inexperienced waiter on the ship to pay for his passage.His bunkmate on the Temperance is the unfriendly, fierce-looking, ginger, butch Lieutenant. Fortunately, he keeps his distance (for the most part).When they arrive at Kuello, Monty gets to know the Lieutenant as a real person and it looks like romance is in the offing, were it not for the latter's indentured servitude. Then his boss is murdered and Lieutenant is arrested for the deed. Can the two men hatch a scheme to free the Lieutenant and pave the way for a future together?
