Two Months Until Christmas

Before lunch, Zane stopped by the counselor's office to speak with him about his college selection. When he entered the lunchroom, he was greeted by a table of other boys vying for Sharetta Akina's attention. He made up his mind on his way there that he would stop being a coward and tell her how he felt.
"Sharetta, may I speak with you for a moment?" That moment led to Zane telling her how he felt, asking her to their prom, and asking her to be his girl.
Seven years have passed, and Zane has a son of his own. He is also dealing with his father's viciousness and harsh words, not only to him but also to his brothers. To top everything else that was going on in his life, someone had hit him with their car. As he lay in the hospital recovering, his only thought was to stay away from the man who made his life miserable.
His wife had another wish: she wanted her husband home for Christmas.
