Two If By Sea

The ominous sound of seven hundred soldier's boots echoed from Boston's cobble stone streets. They were finally on the march and headed to Concord. Their goal was to capture the arms stored there, and arrest John Hancock and Samuel Adams who were staying in Lexington.

This is a story not only about the actual events leading up to the "shot heard round the world" but imagines the personal interplays that led up to the spark that was struck on Lexington's green. There were passionate love affairs, betrayals and treachery, all of which were intertwined with acts of courage, sacrifice and bravery.

The tapestry of the struggle for American independence is nuanced. The Founding Fathers were very human, and their portraits in our history books showing stiff and formal mannequins do not do them justice.

Two If By Sea is a work of historical fiction, but only the dialogue is imagined. The rest is based on real events.
