This is a deeply personal story that happened to my family and me. It has taken me thirteen years to pluck up the courage to write about it, but I knew it was a story that had to be told. I have always found the psychology of people incredibly intriguing. What makes one person connect with another and then someone else not gelling at all? Is it the chemicals in our brain, or the smells that emit from our skin, just like animals in the wild. I would have loved to have done psychology at university, how fascinating to learnabout the function of our brain but more specifically our emotions and how we connect with each other.I had heard the word narcissism on many occasions but initially it did not mean much. It was just a word. The word became alive, kicking and screaming only a few years later. A narcissist will creep upon you when no-one is looking, when no-one suspects. They have already summed you up, worked you out, analysed you and selected you. If you are unaware of the dangers of a narcissist, you don't stand a chance. A narcissist is similar to a ghost walking through you. They know your reactions, identify your fears and relish in the destruction they bestow upon you. If you are a narcissist you will not admit to any of these symptoms, symptoms of a long lying foundation that is as complicated as untangling one thousand pieces of string from different origins.
