Her collapse in the pulpit becomes a powerful metaphor for the cost of unaddressed pain. When Stanley and Maggie's lives intersect, Twisted Footsteps evolves into a meditation on intimacy born of brokenness and the consequences of denying one's truth. Through lyrical prose and unflinching insight, Kenney explores betrayal, Black faith leadership, grief, and the fragile pursuit of redemption.
