Starting from post-WWII India, this book spans across two continents to weave together the story of five principal characters: two young Indian pilots lost in Africa's wilderness, a wealthy farming couple, and a native young African. In many ways, it is the life story of Jerry, one of the two pilots, who lost his mother when he was just 4 years old and had to confront bad treatment from his stepmother.
Beginning with a plane crash, the novel traces the maturing of Jerry's character from that of a worldly young pilot to that of a man searching for the purpose of his life. His travails include survival in the jungle, search for his missing copilot and final redemption at an African farming estate.
Twist of Destiny is also the intertwined story of an unlikely romance, lost identities, a mysterious death, loyalty, and deceit. It also brings forth the importance of family values, reconciliation and togetherness, and unselfish generosity to help spread the word of God.
