captivating

My two-year-old is captivated with this book. She had several Karen Katz lift-the-flap book that she loved when she was younger but her preferences have changed from books to playing for the time being. This book interests her enough to overcome that. I am always in search of books to keep her love of reading alive during this phase of jumping, dancing and spinning. This book is perfect for an active toddler!

My daughter's favorite book for about 6 months!

My now 19-month old daughter still loves to read this book. While its not her favorite, she asked for it to be read every night before bed from age 12 months through about 18 months. That is a long string of interest for her. She also enjoys the princess baby series. This one she really liked feeling the textures and I think the flow of the verbiage really suited her at that age.

Fun book

My daughter is 18 months and has loved this book since she received it months ago. She loves the scratchy shiny material in the book. It's true what one reviewer says, that there aren't many different textures to touch (just different colors). But, my daughter loves to touch the fabrics on each page and loves the rhyming lines. The dancing toddlers are very cute. It's not too girly and definitely not bratty or princess-y (as another reviewer points out) and I like that.

My daughter's favorite board book!

My almost 2-year-old daughter got this book as a present, and *adores* it. The different textures hold her attention a bit longer than other books, so I actually have enough time to read the pages to her. She is also obsessed with shoes, and likes seeing all the different shoes that the girl wears. I like it because I think it does a good job of being girly and fun without being bratty or too "princessy." I am definitely going to look for more books by Karen Katz.
