TwentySomeone

Our small group studied this book as an intro to the year. It worked well to cover many topics in a short time. Interesting concepts. Easy to read and enjoyable writting style.

A brilliant look into the issues of a 20-someone, Christian or Non.

I recently read this book ... twice. I finished the last page, then turned back to the first and immediatley read through it again. I wanted to share it with my brother, my parents, all of my friends, my students. I'm 27 and wish I'd read the book earlier in my twenties. I think it is insightful on every level. There is a Christian focus, true, but it is a smart focus, and I would recommend the book to anyone who has questions about relationships (whether romantic), MONEY, character, career and/or legacy. The book is also funny. I laughed out loud more than once, which, to me, is the sign of anything good. You should read this book whether you are Christian, and whether you are in fact in your twenties. It is not a Christian self-help book. It is a book about life. It is honest. It is good. And anyone can relate to the stories these guys share.

A parent's perspective

I'm not a twentysomeone, but I was one once - a long time ago. Reading TWENTYSOMEONE helped me make peace with my 20's. Now as the parent of 2 daughters in their "decade of transition," I'm at peace with their tewnties as well. In fact, I learned that my daughters are navigating their twenties much better that I did mine. As my daughters contune through their twenties I am confident that TWENTYSOMEONE will serve them well as a guide for growth and as a source of encouragement.

What do I do now???

Scathingly honest reflection of what it's like to be a twenty something is, to me, the outstanding quality of this book and it's authors. Sound wisdom is given, by exposing examples from the minds, lives, and experiences of the authors. Keen wit, and blatent life blunders are laced throughout the presentation of deep questions we all ask outselves in our twenties. What is this life for? Why am I here? Where do I go, what do I do, and who do I do it with??? What is important now?! These questions are addressed in an palatable manner that is captivating in its presentation. At 26, I found this book to be essential, and an oasis in a world that seems so tumultuous at this time. Being allowed to read the thoughts and opinions of the authors when they were twenty somethings was like a reflection into my own mind. Wow, I am not alone. If you're in or near your 20s, this is a must read.

Over Coffee......

As a Christian "Twentysomeone" gal I think I have my stuff together....well, for the most part anyway. I picked this book up at a conference ;) and had a hard time putting it down till the last page was read --including the rec' book list at the back. Each section is followed by a few questions that I found surprisingly helpful in shaping/realizing my focus, life goals (professional and personal), and what I want my remaining few `twentysomeone' years to be about. Enjoyed the book and the result of it in my life so much that I had to share it with my friends. Those questions and a list of things to do in your 20's (in the back of the book) made for great coffee house conversation with friends. Thanks to the authors for sharing their insight.
