Twenty-First Century War Stories is a creative writing compilation that brings light to the continual warfare of my generation as well as others. The concept of war completely describes the internal struggle that many people are dealing with in this millennium. Many fighting souls are combatting the concepts of love-sickness, rejection, a lack of self-confidence, low self-esteem, addiction, substance abuse and being misunderstood by the world around them. Many people find themselves dancing with suicidal thoughts, inflicting self-harm, and ultimately surrendering their wonderful spirits to the battles against darkness & temptation. As does happen in modern warfare, many experience post traumatic symptoms and lives are also lost as a result of the struggle. I have fought this war for many years myself. The stories are accounts of or derived from my personal experience on the battle field. Through vignettes, short stories, memoirs, and poetry, the compilation shares some of the most personal records of my own battles ? the same battles that many other beautiful souls are fighting. It is a walk through what has been my respective journey as I share my own struggles and my connection to natural phenomena during war times. In the greatest war of this century, the heart is the battlefield.
