For you may think that life in a sleepy village in some idyllic rural setting is the answer to every day stress but the decision of this particular sleepy village to drain the its lake didn't just reveal old cars and bikes. The empty lake revealed more than that, much more. It revealed a horror no one would ever imagine. A revelation that changed the village forever and turned villager against villager. The characters are shaken out of their slumbers by the revelations of the lake and something approaching mayhem results. The village's busy-body Majorie Bankhurst, through her malicious tongue tries to implicate village folk - one being Jim Duffy, a quiet gentle man but a man with a secret. Then when Inspector Mansfield arrives, a down to earth kind of guy, the gossip and finger pointing begins. Some villagers are glad of the focus on them by the events unfolding as their businesses can benefit from the added extra attention. However nobody is prepared for the scale of the horror and yet in its ultimate revelation is justice finally served? This is a fast paced easy read with believable characters and down to earth dialogue that will keep you in suspense until the amazing end. A must-read for all those who enjoy a murder mystery well told.
