In November 1995, after expressing suicidal ideations, I was escorted out of my classroom and taken to a mental hospital where I spent the next twelve days. During that time I experienced depressions and mania. I lived with psychotics, alcoholics, and addicts, and learned that we are not so different from one another. We are all just trying to find our way and deal with the pain. This is my diary of the twelve days that I spent in the hospital.......the first leg of my journey into wellness. A step into a world of mental illness.
