Not a good example for how children should treat turtles

I love turtles and thought this book was going to be cute for my son. The little girl in the story finds a turtle and keeps it in a shoe box and proceeds to do things that would cause a lot of stress to a turtle in real life. I know it’s supposed to be silly but this is a bad example for children as to how they should treat turtles. They are precious living beings that should not be kept in small boxes and played with by children like this. Children are capable of understanding the proper way to treat animals and this story is not a good example.

A Special Book

This was the first book I read to my daughter when she was a baby. Now, she is 7 and she reads it to me. It's a cute story.

Great Book

I love this book! I've been reading it to my daughter since she was about 5 months old (15 months old now) and she really likes it. It's one of the very few I'm not sick of yet!

Adorable

This was my daughter's favorite book from about the age of two until she got into Harry Potter. And it's still one of my favorites to read aloud. It's a gentle book that helps illustrate the importance of respecting and being aware of the differences of others. I'm sure your children will love this book, too.

Perfect nap time book for three year olds!

Turtle Time is a charming and wonderfully illustrated book. The language is rhythmic and full of humor. Great for repeated readings and fun for the adult, too.

a great rhyming bedtime story

My 5 year old autistic son LOVES this story. He asks for it every night at bedtime and loves to read along! The rhymes are great and Lynn Munsinger's illustrations are perfect!
