Astronomy mathematics started it

I liked this book and how it traces science from the Greek through the Arabs past the Catholic Christian church to the modern failures in environmental concerns. The failure of sewage treatment in western society along with the idea of waste controls on CO2 seems very important. The printing press and the internet may be parallel in their long term impact of science? The articles and source materials are first rate here.
