Turning Points: A Journey Through Challenges

By A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

Book Overview

'During my tenure I had to take many tough decisions. I had applied my mind totally in an unbiased manner after eliciting opinions from legal and constitutional experts. The primary aim of all the decisions was to protect and nurture the sanctity and robustness of our Constitution.'

Turning Points takes up the incredible Kalam story from Wings of Fire. It brings together details from Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's career and presidency that are not generally known, as for the first time, he speaks on certain points of controversy during his tenure: the dissolution of the Bihar assembly in 2005, returning the Office of Profit Bill for reconsideration and his thoughts on capital punishment.

Above all, it is a continuing saga of a journey-individual and collective-that offers invaluable insights on Dr Kalam's Vision 2020 as well as his proposed pathway to take the nation further on the road to progress.
