Detective Shark Morgan and his partner Dell Hassler are struggling to solve several mysterious murders in the outer banks of Hilton Head, South Carolina. There is the brutal murder of a drifter, the disappearance of a local fisherman, and the hit and run death of a young Hispanic restaurant worker. In addition to Shark's hectic work schedule, his former flame--the source of trouble between him and Dell--Marissa Langford, reappears in his life. After a frightening street-side shooting in Paris in which the pedestrian standing next to her is killed, Marissa returns to America to settle the estate of her latest ex. There she reconnects with Shark, unaware that she's being followed. The culmination of a pulse-pounding trilogy, Turn of Fortune reunites Marissa and her first husband Devon Phillips, the dynamic duo of "marry to murder." Marissa receives a summons from Devon to meet him in Belize. She is conflicted as to whether she is headed for a loving reunion or for something more sinister. Rightfully suspicious of each other's motives, the ill-fated couple is drawn into a chilling game of cat and mouse. To make Shark's life more complicated, his investigation leads him to a string of what he considers dead ends in the form of Andrea Michaels, a young woman stricken with cancer who is fighting for her life; and Rebecca Sands, an aggressive reporter for the local newspaper who is constantly getting in Shark's way. Relentlessly paced, Turn of Fortune is packed with action and drama that fans of Hunnings have come to expect. Don't miss the follow-up to the wildly popular The Bride Wore Blood and Death on a Cellular Level .
Loved the series ! My only disappointment is that it is over ! Vicky Hunnings is a wonderful author and I look forward to her next book. Hers are books I will keep for years and read more than once. Chris Sloan

Vicky Hunnings has done it again. In book #3, Hunnings weaves another intriguing tale of murder and deception in the SC lowcountry. From the opening line to the last paragraph, readers are held captive by the trail of blood leading from Paris to Belize to the southern coast. Marissa Langford, a main character from Hunnings' first book, reappears on Hilton Head Island, assuring additional conflict for Shark and Dell. The reader will be amazed at the surprising twists and turns as the story unfolds, but nothing can prepare for the startling ending. A masterful tale, told by a master story-teller.
