Book Overview

It's not bad enough her cousin's stealing her thunder. She's also stealing her dress. Who doesn't love a wedding? Nina Robertson sure doesn't, since the wedding in question is that of her hyper-competitive, catty cousin Celia. And Nina's own engagement hit the brakes (and then went over a cliff) not too long ago. And the bitter icing on the cake? Celia will be wearing Nina's dream dress. Meanwhile, Nina's no-good ex is conducting a shock-and-awe campaign on her social life. And an underhanded co-worker, along with a notoriously difficult movie star, are making her public-relations job a nightmare. Although Nina might not be headed down the aisle, she's definitely headed downhill.

Fun read!

Lighthearted and fun, Tulle Little, Tulle Late is filled with energy and surprises around every corner. Ms. Llewellyn has captured the spirit of "every woman," and offers the reader a sense of adventure that is certain to evoke many unexpected chuckles.

Zany tale....

Nina Robertson's life is in chaos. Recently jilted by her fiancé, Jeremiah Stone, her competitive cousin now intends to get married in the very dress Nina had chosen. Add a few moments of sheer humiliation and the realization that her career is going nowhere, and Nina is ready to put her job skills in public relations towards revamping her own life. Soon, she finds herself caught between her former fiancé and sexy Dante while fighting against a slimy coworker for a promotion in which she is saddled with an outrageous movie star to prove her mettle. Nina wants a life makeover, but is it TULLE LITTLE, TULLE LATE? Kimberly Llewellyn takes readers on an unbelievably zany journey. At times, it's almost like watching a train wreck as Nina seems to experience every single possible catastrophe that could occur. If you've ever had one of those nightmares in which every single thing went wrong to the point that it exceeds the expectations of reality, then you can imagine Nina's life in TULLE LITTLE, TULLE LATE. Amazingly enough, Nina herself remains likeable despite her obvious flaws. Kimberly Llewellyn does a phenomenal job with the character development as it is the strength of Nina's personality, and not the actual events, that carries this tale. TULLE LITTLE, TULLE LATE will appeal to fans of chick lit as Kimberly Llewellyn engages the reader in a tale of woe and redemption. Nina's self-exploration will strike a chord with readers who enjoy something a bit offbeat. TULLE LITTLE, TULLE LATE is an odd journey, but one that readers of chick lit should enjoy. Entertaining romantic comedy

After getting dumped as she is picking out the perfect Vera Wang gown, you could say Nina Robertson is having a bad time. But when ultra-competitive back-stabbing cousin Celie chooses that exact gown for her own wedding, Nina has a melt down at the bridal shower, as she tries desperately to get out of the very gown she's tried on. Celie catches her, calls off her wedding due to a tainted gown, then Nina realizes that her life is in the dumps and no withdrawal from a sperm bank will get her out of this mood unless she makes some changes including focusing on her career and getting herself a boy toy. The career is on its way as she is in a competition for a promotion at work. To celebrate, she and her friends go to a party and she leaves with a sexy stranger on his motorcycle. After a night of the best sex she has ever had, Nina figures she will never see Dante again, but darned if he does not keep showing up. As she struggles with a sabotaging competitor at work, an aging diva that wants her at her beck and call, sex on a bike Dante, and the sudden reemergence of former fiance Jeremiah with a hard luck story, suddenly she has far too many balls in the air. Llewellyn's adventure in near-matrimony is at times hysterical and sexy without being racy. The wry and often "punny" chapter headings add even more fun to a book that is already entertaining, even if it is a bit predictable at times. Nina is the perfectly flawed career woman who finally decides that she is not going to wait for Prince Charming to shape her future.

Unpredictable, fun, funny and sexy

I couldn't put it down. The main character was not perfect, and her life was far from it, which made it fun. I loved how it took place around Boston and the North Shore. I have to say it wasn't predictable, which is why I couldn't put it down. Enjoy this sexy, fun and addictive book.

Stand Out

n the contemporary novel Tulle Little, Tulle Late, author Kimberly Llewellyn introduces readers to Nina Robertson. Nina and her cousin, Celie, have always been competitive, and now Celie's winning yet another competition. This time, it's a race to get married. Nina is at her cousin's bridal shower, waiting for her best friend, Brooke, to show up, when she finds Celie's wedding dress. It's a gown that Nina had originally picked out for her own wedding to journalist Jeremiah Stone, before it was called off. Even now, trying it on in Celie's bedroom, hoping she doesn't get caught, it is perfect for her. That's when it all starts. Celie catches her cousin in the dress, and calls off the entire wedding, saying that the dress is tainted now that Nina's worn it. After that fiasco, Nina is ready for some changes in her life. It's not just about her competition with Celie; she's going nowhere with any of her goals in life. No man, stuck in the same rut at work for four years, no money, and no kids. She doesn't have anything she thought she'd have by the time she reached thirty. With the help of her two best friends, Brooke and Unity, Nina creates a to-do list for her life. She wants it back on track, and she wants it all now. Her need for instant gratification has always been a bit of a problem for her, and nothing's changing now. First, she asks for a promotion at work, which would cross off two goals at once. Having a better job would mean more money. Of course, she never planned on competing against lying, stealing Chad Gorham for the job. He'll do anything to get it. Next is her romantic life. That's also more complicated than Nina had planned. First, she meets Dante at a party. He's sexy and mysterious, but it's just a one-night stand...Right? Wrong. Dante keeps showing up, and Nina's not about to send him away. There's another man in her life she's not sending away, either. Jeremiah Stone is back. He claims he is in danger, and needs Nina to go to some parties with him, just to throw the guerillas threatening his life off of the trail. Plus, he needs a place to crash. Nothing in Nina's life is going as planned. Things are getting messy, and she's got to fix it all fast. Kimberly Llewellyn's novel, Tulle Little, Tulle Late, is one that's certainly worth reading. Llewellyn is an excellent writer, and her book is funny, witty, and well-written. She pulls her readers into Nina's story, and keeps them hooked to the very last page. Nina is a heroine who has readers cheering for her right up until the story ends, and thinking about her story even after the book is over. She is a well-developed character, as are the others populating this story. Nina Robertson and her life goals are something that any woman who has ever felt she needs to get her life on track (and fast!) can relate to. And haven't we all felt that way at some point? The author doesn't write in a way that makes the reader see every detail in his or her head, but that's not necessary
