Last year, I spent some time researching tuberculosis for a book I wrote about New Mexico's Sandia Mountains. Many of the towns in the Sandias were founded by tuberculosis victims trying to benefit from the desert mountains' fresh air and dry climate. I needed to know about the disease that had afflicted them, and this was the only book about TB in the entire Albuquerque library system. The only book and, in the end, the only one I really needed. The book is written in a style intended for young adult readers, but its tone is not condescending, and its simple style merely makes its information come across clearly and plainly. It's a good book, an informative book, and it's well enough written that I felt no qualms in quoting it in mine.
