Emotional intelligence begins with protecting your inner world. James 1:2-4 "The testing of your faith produces perseverance." My trials shaped me into someone stronger. Do not be Lukewarm. Low emotional engagement in communication is when a person responds, but without depth; they're around, but not present, they care, but not consistently. They show inconsistent affection or effort, warm one day, distant the next. Leaving you with a feeling of never quite knowing where you stand. This inconsistency in your communication creates emotional confusion. Normally, people have an avoidance of vulnerability issues because they don't open up emotionally by sharing feelings. When confronted, they keep things "safe" and on a surface level by lacking in communication.
