These stories are taken from religious texts such as Srimad Bhagavatam, The Ramayana, The Mahabharata, stories from religious lectures of Swami Chinmayananda, Swami Omkarananda, Swami Swaroopananda, Thirumuruga Kripananda Variar, Pattinathar, Mullah Nasruddin stories, and some from Zen, Native American cultures and so on. Some are just heard as folklore stories in India. The authors has also, used his own photographs and drawings to illustrate some stories. A glossary of non-English terms, an appendix to explain certain aspects, a list of bibliography and references related to these stories are also given. A number of Sanskrit verses from Avadutha Gita, Bhagavat Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam, Ashtavakra Gita, and Bhajagovindam are used to explain and corroborate these stories. Many Tamil verses from Thirukkural, Pattinathar, Neethi Neri Vilakkam, and Thirumoolar Thirumandiram are also used as needed with transliteration and meanings in English.
