Truth: The Bedrock of All That Is

People's opinions and perceptions tend to override and conflict with the desire to know the truth. Many times, we don't seek the truth. Instead, we seek validation of our own opinions. When preconceived notions are at the forefront, our pursuit is muddied. We begin to look for what will confirm our viewpoints and initial thoughts rather than venturing into new knowledge and allowing our understanding to be changed based on what is revealed. Reality will forever remain as it is. We exist within many forms of reality, and reality is the expression of logic. Whatever is logically made has been spoken through Him Who is the Word (John 1:1). When we know Him Who is the Word, we find He is Truth. Without a Truthful Word, there is nothing but deception, lies, opinions, and a lifestyle with continual uncertainty. There is no balance or confirmation where Truth does not exist. Everything is forever coming and going, tossing and turning based on different generations' opinions, viewpoints, thoughts, and expressions. This is why Truth is so important. We live in a day and age where people believe there is no such thing as absolute truth. Even if they do believe in truth, they do not believe there are moral and religious truths. Why? Because the truth is convicting (yet, it is also liberating). It demands change in oneself. Sadly, many times in our pursuits, we don't want the truth to come forth because we want to remain as we are. We don't want to change and hear the call of what must be worked on or worked through within us. Naturally, we as humans want to be comfortable, forming our own form of reality (which is no reality at all) of a utopian end where we come out unscathed. We reach the self-created end where we lived as we chose, and we promised ourselves either eternal life or eternal extinction from existence. Sadly, both viewpoints are inaccurate and not based on truth when eternal life is not found in Him Who is the Truth. This is why we are called to "Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness" (Ephesians 6:14 NKJV). When we pursue after truth, find Truth, and understand Truth, we live a life free from deception and guilt. We acknowledge the Truth when we refrain from living a double-minded life and admit when we are in the wrong. We do not seek to hide that which is wrong, but we confess and repent before God. To understand that God exists and believe in Truth, we must have an unbiased pursuit that begins with seeking after Truth.
