Truth, Lies and Fried Chicken

Annie Brown RN, is an ordinary nurse who loves taking care of patients but gets irritated at the absurdities of working in a large bureaucracy. She and the other nursing staff face relentless idiotic memos from Administration, deal with difficult doctors as well as patients with good humor and tolerance most of the time.

On evening Annie is in Day Surgery by herself to complete the last charts of the day. Dr. Wreed, an older physician, happens by and discovers her alone. He attempts to assault her and as she jerks away from him, her fingernail catches and rips a button off his shirt, exposing an oddly shaped mole in the center of his chest. She is able to escape but is so shaken by the encounter, she can't even tell her husband, Ben, for a few days. Later in the week, Dr. Wreed realizes he is at risk, and falsely reports Annie for not following his orders and abandoning on of his patients. He whispers to Annie, in a muttered threat, "you are out of here." When Annie is called in to respond to the complaint, she reveals that she wants to report the doctor for attempted assault. Because of the timing, Risk Management is skeptical of the truth of her story. They are going to consult the hospital attorney--always a bad sign.
