New insights into the life and times of Jesus Christ!

An easy to read and reflective commentary on the life and events in lives and times of Jesus, Mary, Joseph, John the Baptist and the other apostles. I believe it has made a difference in my life and in the lives of those to whom I gave this wonderful book. You can read it over and over and be inspired again and again. I recommend it highly especially to those who take Jesus and his life seriously. I give it five stars!

This book makes you want to do what its title says.

Against the stream of "biblical scholars" whose writings conclude that the Gospel portrait of Jesus of Nazareth is almost totally fiction, Msgr. Jeremiah F. Kenney has authored a book that brings the Risen Christ into personal and close encounter with the reader; so close, that the reader wants to do exactly what the book's title says: "Trust Jesus." The book revolves around questions that throb in the heart of every disciple -- Who is Jesus? Can I expect one of Jesus' miracles today? How did Jesus pray? What must I expect if I live close to Jesus? Can I ever go back to Calvary? How does Jesus deal with evil -- and, in a series of 13 chapters, offers a dynamic and structure helpful to meditation. Each chapter presents a "gospel cameo" from the New Testament, followed by a prayerful response and a concluding application to one's life. In the "gospel cameos," Msgr. Kenney, who peppers the chapters with many years of pastoral experience and insight, excels at drawing the reader into intimate moments of the personal lives of biblical figures such as Mary, St. Joseph, John the Baptist, the Apostles, and, of course, Jesus himself. Rewarded with unusual biblical insights, the reader inevitably discovers or recovers his or her appetite for a truly enriching and enlivening spiritual life. "Trust Jesus" is not only a book for all seasons for young and old, but also a volume to which one will want to return over and again as years go by.
