Charles Spurgeon wrote that we should "care more for a grain of faith than a ton of excitement". This statement has little meaning in good times, but when times are hard and the cares of the world bear down on us, it becomes very meaningful. There is no substitute for faith in our lives. To believe and know that Jesus Christ died for us, taking on our sins, so that we might have an eternal relationship with God is worth more than anything else this world can offer. It is this belief that makes us Christians, united in Christ, guaranteed an inheritance with Him that we can scarcely imagine. The Bible says "the righteous will live by his faith" (Habakkuk 2:4).
