ISBN 1573351644 - Despite being a mere 31 pages, usually the size of a book for the 4-8 crowd, Trucks is more appropriate to the 9-12 age group. This pictorial hardcover is oversized, another thing that adds to the mistaken impression that it's for younger kids. Everything you could possibly want to know about trucks is to be found here. The workings parts of a truck, the different kinds of them, and specialty vehicles are covered. There's a section on the history of trucks and a glossary in the back. This is not, by any stretch of the imagination, a book that will entertain most readers. What it is, however, is informative. Truly truck-crazed kids and those who have to do research will be the best target audience for this reference book.
