Pisemsky Aleksey Feofilaktovich Russian writer. It belonged to an ancient noble family impoverished. He graduated from the Mathematics Department of Moscow State University in 1844. About 10 years has been in the public service in Kostroma and Moscow. He appeared in print in 1848. The first Roman Pisemskogo "Boyarschina" (1846, published 1858) was written in the spirit of the natural school of 40th. Fame came to Pisemsky after the "mattress" published the novel (1850). Then came the story of the life of the nobility and the bureaucracy province "Comic", "rich bride" (both 1851), "Monsieur Batmanov" (1852), "braggart" (1854), "Is she to blame?" (1855) and other, the comedy "The hypochondriac" (1852) and "Section" (1853), stories of peasant life. The writer has not seen among the nobility of people able to resist the influence of its inhuman morality, so the irony is one of the main characteristics of his style. The seamless nature of the writer found only in people. In the novel "Troubled Sea" (1863) he gave a harsh attack on the revolutionary movement.
