Trip Trap Trot is the first book in the Stories From Here, There And Everywhere series. The series presents stories from the world's great folk tales, fables, and parable traditions. The stories, both serious and humorous, are written in a way that stimulates vivid image formation and ethical feeling and thinking. The underlying stylistic assumption is that the reader has received a thorough introduction to basic phonetic decoding, basic sight-word recognition and basic context sensitivity skills. To this end, the book uses controlled vocabulary and Standard American English syntax and sentence structures. One and two syllable words predominate, with the great majority being phonetically regular. Some longer and irregular words are used where necessary for attractive and lively storytelling. All multi-syllable words have been syllabicated with tiny super-script bullets to help the reader meet the challenges of English syllabication.
