WOW!

I read TREASURES OF THE HEART in two days, and I work full time! I could not put it down! Ms. Runge has done a wonderful job of giving us information about the Amish and the old quilting bees without it sounding like a travelogue. I thought that Josiah was a hero to die for--strong, loyal to his family and with a heart gold. (No pun intended!) Amanda's spirit was contagious and I loved her innocence when it came to the Amish and their ways. It was a very entertaining read, I only hope Ms. Runge can write fast enough to keep me happy! I am looking forward to more from her.

Awesome Debut!

This is a very fun book and I highly recommend it! The rural Indiana setting and the Amish information is really interesting. I especially loved the dialogue and the by-play between Amanda and Josiah. Though it is a sweet book, it literally steams with sexual tension. Josiah is one of those strong, silent types and he possesses loyalty and sensitivity that any woman in her right mind would drool over! Amanda's spunk and compassion compliment him perfectly! There are several comical scenes and I don't want to spoil them for you but I know you'll love the bit with the sugar beet. Another cute part is where Amanda and Josiah's sister, Mary, are caught almost switching clothes. Amanda rectifies the situation in a humorous, heartfelt way. It's hard to believe this is a debut novel! I can't wait to read more of Ms. Runge's work!

This was a wonderful book! I was instantly captured by the mystery surrounding the quilt! Amanda and Josiah are warm, engaging characters you'll love. Tina writes in a heartfelt, inviting way. It's a very refreshing book that is on my keeper shelf!Can't wait for her next release!

Ms. Runge creates appealing characters readers will empathize with and admire. The reader will ride an emotional roller coaster with Josiah and Amanda as they make life changing decisions and cope with the obstacles of unlikely love. With TREASURES OF THE HEART you can enjoy Ms. Runge's easy writing style of true sentiment, charming romance and family loyalty. A talented telling of pure and gentle love. Fans of the inspirational genre should also enjoy reading this book. Sweet and refreshing!

A heart-warming story

Runge writes with a great knowledge and empathy of the Amish customs and lifestyle. She has an incredible talent for creating characters the reader falls in love with from beginning to end; characters like Amanda, with her never-say-die attitude, zest for life and her inherent belief in people. And Josiah who touches your heart as he struggles with his confusion and identity crisis, but never strays from the good, honest man that is at his core. Runge also has a flawlessly light touch with humor, sprinkling just enough of it throughout this tale to keep it from being too heart breaking. The characters and story are great!
