In the first book in this series, kayaker Steven Bradley, vacationing at Isle Royale National Park, discovers something unexpected on a remote island and is soon being pursued by men seemingly intent on making sure he does not live long enough to tell anyone what he has seen. Book 2 begins as Owen Anderson, on special assignment from the FBI, is alerting President Henessey that the US may be under imminent attack by either a foreign government or unknown non-state actors. The National Special Command Center is activated to try to both understand then neutralize the threat. Book 3 begins as Steven is whisked off the island after telling his story to the authorities. He keeps thinking about the beautiful woman who helped him survive his ordeal and wonders if he should try to get in touch with her even though she told him she already had a boyfriend. Book 4 continues the story to a happy conclusion, fifty years after Steven and Jill first met on Isle Royale.The first four books are works of fiction. Book 5 reveals the story behind the story, including the fact that much of the material is highly autobiographical.
