Trayon White is an American politician from Washington, D.C., recognized for his strong ties to the Southeast community and his dedication to public service. Born on May 11, 1984, White faced significant challenges in his early life, including poverty and exposure to violence. He was primarily raised by his mother and grandmother and found inspiration through a teacher who mentored him, encouraging him to excel academically and get involved in student government. He graduated from Ballou Senior High School in 2002 and earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 2006.

Before entering politics, White was a committed community organizer. In 2007, he founded Helping Inner City Kids Succeed (HICKS), an initiative aimed at supporting at-risk youth in his neighborhood. He also served on the D.C. State Board of Education and took on various roles, including coach and outreach worker, focusing on youth development and violence prevention.

In 2017, White was elected to the Council of the District of Columbia, representing Ward 8. During his time in office, he advocated for affordable housing, youth programs, and community development. However, in 2025, he was expelled from the council following an FBI investigation that alleged he accepted bribes in exchange for steering city contracts.

Despite his expulsion, White continued to be a prominent figure in Ward 8. In a special election held in July 2025, he was re-elected to his council seat, demonstrating his enduring support among constituents. White has consistently maintained his innocence regarding the charges and continues to serve as a representative for Ward 8.
