Five Teachers from the worst high school in Toledo are fed up with having to step outside for a cigarette whenever they go to the bar to shoot a little pool. As none of them actually have room for a pool table, they do what any reasonable people would do in that situation: They buy a foreclosed church and declare their club a religion in order to deduct the cost of their donation to themselves.All goes well at the First Church of Polydeism (there are many gods... and they're all ignoring us), until the wife of one of the members joins an apocalyptic cult. And he feels compelled to follow her to their compound to await either the rapture, or the end of the world. Whichever comes first. Outraged, or at the very least mildly perturbed, the remaining members of Phony Religion One drive down to Mexico to re-kidnap their wayward friend from Phony Religion Two.Note for 2nd Edition: Neither the original Travels with Meds nor this one had the advantage of a professional editor nor proof reader. This edition has made several primarily cosmetic changes to the original manuscript: punctuation, capitalization, paragraph indentation, and a few homophones. The story is otherwise the same as when "Off My Meds" originally published it.
