Terry Weeks went back to Barnard at fifty, after raising three children, and got a degree in English literature and creative writing. Gourmet bought her first article in 1980, and she eventually became a contributing editor to the magazine. Over the next two decades, appearing regularly in Gourmet, she also wrote restaurant reviews in New York and KeyWest. A long-time resident of Stonington, Connecticut, Weeks currently lives in Baltimore near her son and daughter-in-law. The articles in this book, published in Gourmet between 1980 and 1993, are for all those readers with a passion for food and travel--be they cooks, diners, travelers, or bon vivants--who miss Gourmet.
