Travels with John

This collection of adventure vignettes and a 26-day diary of a Himalayan trek explore sites of natural beauty and interactions with the culture and people of far-away places from 1973 to 1996. Three threads weave together to advance the story. The first thread was my unabated, tireless drive to find spiritual guidance and direction. The second, starting in 1980, was my developing relationship with John, deep in instinctive mutual understanding and broad in the breadth of interests we had in common. The third thread was the steady stream of world destinations that we visited and enjoyed. Like drunken sailors, we reveled in experiencing each trip together: climbing mountains, scuba diving in ocean waters, crossing deserts, and topping off the nights by gazing calmly at the same familiar night sky that we saw around the world. In the end, John and I discovered the greatest experience of all: communion and communication with wise and godly higher spirits and guardian angels. This spirit communication is what spirits in 1995, before the advent of widespread internet, called "going online."
