This booklet is composed of three previously-published articles, which have been turned into chapters. It offers a passionate view on the charms of travelling aboard Australian country trains, with a strong focus on New South Wales, the author's home state. The first section advocates for regional rail as a means of travel, whilst the second discusses those lines which fell silent, for which the promise of the future yet holds. Within the latter, there is a focus on Mudgee railway station, a grand and beautiful building which lies, as of writing, a mere 50 kilometres from the operational limit. The final part is a treatise on trainspotting, an attempt to justify the adoring fascination which many feel towards trains and railways.
Stocked at the Mudgee library. Pictures of Mudgee station and some other parts of Australia's country railways - again, particularly in New South Wales - are included.
