Grandma says many people are confused about the country where Amsterdam is located. Some call it Holland which isn't correct. She teaches the kids to call it The Netherlands. Amsterdam is the capital of The Netherlands and is in a section of the country called North Holland. It's an area like a state. There is a South Holland also, where the King lives. There are pictures and facts about windmills and wooden shoes and wonderful paintings by Amsterdam residents like Rembrandt, Van Gogh and Vermeer. They take boats up the canals and learn why the houses are so tall and skinny. It's an exciting and fact-filled adventure.
