Traveling Tootsie

Traveling Tootsie is a cute little story for young readers by Karen and Kathy Honaker. It was fun to travel around the Washington DC area with Katie and Steven’s teddy bear, Tootsie. I thought it was a great way to show the different sites around the United State’s capital city. I believe so many little ones will be entertained and let out a few giggles to see where else Tootsie would go to next. I thought it was a great learning experience for the reader, as well as, a heartwarming tale to read. I really liked it. Traveling Tootsie is illustrated by the talented artist Chiara Civati. I found the pictures to be beautifully colorful and visually appealing for a little ones’ eyes. I thought they were a perfect addition to help to tell the story. They are, also, a nice way for the smallest of readers to continue to stay interested in what is going on with Tootsie. I am giving Traveling Tootsie five stars. I highly recommend it for readers between the ages of three and seven years old. It would be a great addition on the shelves in an elementary school classroom and / or in a children’s public library. I am curious to see what other stories Karen and Kathy Honaker has in store for their young readers. I received a soft cover copy of Traveling Tootsie from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
