The Church today needs strong disciples. This group study is designed to help you build them. Strong disciples are built on a solid foundation of faith, love, and hope. These three principles were the Apostle Paul's guidelines for teaching and training when he was building new churches across the Roman Empire. Faith anchors your life in God and empowers you to experience miraculous things. Love sets you in a life-affirming fellowship with God and a family of faith that will care for and nurture you. Hope excites and drives you through life, even through difficult times.Hebrews 6:1-2 breaks down these three subjects into six key principles to ground the disciple for fruitful living. It focuses on faith with the principles of repentance and faith in God. Love is covered through baptism (initiation into the fellowship) and laying hands (spiritual authority and order in the fellowship). The subject of hope is expressed in the principles of resurrection and eternal judgment. Paul's model is exciting and had extraordinary effects. He built solid churches across countries and cultures, some of which he formed within three months. Some of the churches he formed exist in some form today! His method and the foundation he laid have stood the test of time. This study uses Paul's model teaching, spreading it across twelve weeks of lessons. Each foundational principle will be dealt with for two weeks. Each week, you will reflect on the week's lesson in a group session and be challenged to memorize two short sets of Bible verses. The group session will be 90-minutes, giving you time to review the lesson and discuss the meaning of the memory verses. There will also be a character building group exercise and homework. You will use this workbook as your journal for your homework assignments.This group study is Series 3 is the IMPACT Discipleship Method. The IMPACT Discipleship Method involves five series that progress from reaching the unchurched to training effective disciple-making disciples. Series 1 involves witnessing to the unchurched and helping them see God's story from the Bible in their personal life story. Series 2 exposes people to the full gospel story through the stages of Creation, Corruption, Covenant, Christ, the Church, and the New Creation. Series 4 and 5 group disciples into small training groups to learn the Spiritual Maturity Pathway and how to effectively disciple others.
