Sharese Wilson is an attractive African American freshman student, from Dallas, Texas, beginning her freshman year of a 4 year track scholarship at the University of Texas at Austin.. She befriends fellow student and architect major, Isaiah Kettleman, a handsome Jewish man from Queens, New York. They, immediately, are attracted to each other, but, because, of racial difference, they, initially, question the possibility of a meaningful substantive relationship. Their attraction of each other is so great they through caution to the wind, and, begin a romance that would last them their lifetimes. They experience their share of bigotry, but, survive through it all. They marry upon graduation, and, Sharese begins a stellar career as a world class sprinter, while Isaiah establishes himself as a leading architect in the city of Dallas where they move to after graduation. They enjoy so many experiences and so much love, raising their family of two kids, always, lovingly support by their parents, siblings, and friends. This is a very positive story of how much more we could enjoy life once we, as Dr. King so wisely said, focus our attentions on the content of ones character, rather than, the meaningless color of ones skin. A very good read.
