The 1935 Version of 'The Idiots Guide to Trapping'
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 24 years ago
Mr Lynch gives guidelines and facts to the basics of trapping in water and on land. His experience in the field during the late 1800's and up to the 1930's is a pure resource of untapped knowledge. In one section you follow him through the woods after Bear and see what he sees, smell what he smells. In another, you find yourself in the 'Kitchen' cooking up some Fox Scent..."One very good scent is made as follows; Skin a cat, either bobcat or housecat is good, chop the carcass up into fine bits and put it into a large fruit jar, add to this two or three field mice close the fruit jar .....hang it out out in the sun until the contents are thoroughly rotten, then add a couple of beaver castors..". I think you get the idea. This is the real McCoy! While I have not personlly used any of his dry land tricks, I can vouge for his beaver tactics. My take went up oddles. Enjoy the grit of this small slice of outdoor pie, but don't share it with your mom, sisters, girlfrinds or wifes. No need grossing them out! It's hard enough getting out the door as it is!
