What begins as a campaign to change the image of mobile home living soon pushes Jack into park politics, an unlikely presidency, and a fight over the land beneath the community itself.

Surrounded by eccentric neighbors, improvised committees, local media attention, and increasingly complicated negotiations, Jack discovers that changing a label means confronting the assumptions behind it. At the same time, his relationship with his wife, Sue, gives the story a deeply human emotional center. Blending sharp satire, Palm Springs local color, outrageous community politics, and genuine tenderness, Trailer Chic is ultimately a story about dignity, belonging, love, and a community refusing to let other people decide what it is worth.
