I don't know how she does it, but each book I read by Darlene L Turner is better than the book before. This book is heart-pounding, non-stop action and danger. A cold case and the discovery of human skulls cause archeologist Violet Hoyt to work with K-9 handler Maverick Shaw and his dog Wolf. Violet and Maverick had once been friends. Will they be able to stay alive and become friends again, maybe even more, or will an unknown killer win? In addition to persistent atracks by a faceless enemy, they also must face secrets, a mistaken identity, self-inflicted guilt, and misunderstandings.
The intrigue and unrelenting peril snagged my interest, immersing me in the story. I could not put this book down. If you enjoy inspirational nail-biters, you will want to read this book. I received an advance digital copy to read. All opinions expressed are mine alone.
