Traditional Herbal Medicine, as a healing resource, is becoming increasingly interesting for anthropological research. The research is based on qualitative methodology, given that the meanings of the data obtained in the diversity of methods and techniques used are obtained. These meanings express the diversity of herbal medicines used by the population attending the Belkys Sotomayor Polyclinic in Ciego de Avila as a result of the therapeutic care that the professionals of the polyclinic provide to this population with the aim of resolving the health-disease dilemma. The most notable results point to the systematisation of the studies that have been located on this type of medicine and its use from the perspective of social anthropology, as well as the plan of action aimed at strengthening this practice in the context under investigation.
