Traditional career versus protean career

At a time when technology is transforming the entire labour market, employee-company relations are changing. The aim of this study was to find out whether the attitudes of professionals entering the labour market are more in line with the idea of a traditional career or the idea of a self-directed or protean career, to ascertain their level of satisfaction with their career, profession and job, and how these variables relate to career anchors. Initially, a theoretical survey was carried out on the concepts of career and job satisfaction. With this objective in mind, the Protean Career concept by HALL (1976) and the Career Anchors model by SCHEIN (1990), among other instruments, were adopted. This research involved 113 professionals from different positions and companies, undergraduate, postgraduate and master's students at public schools.
