The world ended with a spill.
Britain's cities became poisoned wastelands where the air burns, plants hunt, and strange things roam the ruins. Only one place remains untouched: Albion Street, a perfectly ordinary London street protected by mysterious filtration towers and maintained by people who barely understand how any of it still works.
Colin Miller is just the street sweeper.
He fixes drains, replaces lamp bulbs, and tries to finish his shift without anything exploding. Unfortunately, blocked drains lead to forgotten tunnels, roses start asking for bus tickets, ghostly maintenance crews emerge from beneath the streets, and ancient machines hidden below London begin calling his name.
As Colin is reluctantly drawn into the secret London Maintenance Network, he discovers that the survival of the last safe street doesn't depend on soldiers or superheroes.
It depends on the people who quietly keep everything working.
Packed with bizarre creatures, dry British humour, hidden underground worlds, impossible machinery and steadily escalating mysteries, TOXIC is a unique blend of post-apocalyptic adventure, cosy horror and offbeat fantasy.
Because when the end of the world arrives...
Someone still has to do the maintenance.
