Just one look at Clayton Sullivan's education (below)makes you realize that his book is worth a read---especially if you are really interested in knowing the TRUTH about the BIBLE, rather than just living in some fantasy concocted by your undereducated mentors!! You will find that it is possible, even necessary, to abandon the idea that the Bible is an error-free divine tome straight from God's thoughts---and yet still believe that Jesus is God's Revelation! I myself am a former Southern Baptist (a Convention which has been destroyed by the Fundamentalist TakeOver), a Christian for 60 years, an MIT (Science) graduate, and a Seminary graduate, and I highly recommend this book to all Christians and other truth-seekers! Born in Jackson, Mississippi, on July 6, 1930, Clayton Sullivan is a Baptist minister who has served more than thirty years as a professor of philosophy and religion at the University of Southern Mississippi. After earning his B.A. from Mississippi College in 1952, he attended the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, where he earned a B.D. degree in 1955 and a Ph.D. in 1960. He also holds an M.A. in philosophy and Middle Eastern Religions from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and has engaged in postdoctoral studies at Princeton University, Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Union Theological Seminary in New York, and the Harvard Divinity School in Cambridge.
