Inspired by the 1840 book by Parson's titled: "A Tour Through Indiana 1840" Although we did not follow his routes from 2 centuries ago we set out on 2 lane roads from Terre Haute and traveled, north, then east, south, and west. Overall we took many trips to cover many small towns in Indiana and avoiding the interstates completely. Many sites, many 2 lane roads, and water towers to highlight nearly every community we visited. There are 121 incorporated cities with populations of 1,000 or more and this book visits over half of these cities. Sorry to the large cities but this is strictly small town Indiana and a look at what the high speed interstate highways have passed by. Small towns, big hearts, warm smiles, and kind words.
