Remembering and Extending

This book does two things. It sympathetically recreates the now largely disappeared world of 1940's and 50's ethnic,in this case Polish-American, religious faith and culture.And in the remarkably mature relationship of its two main characters,a young, truth-seeking boy becoming a man through the inspired guidance of his Religous aunt, we see a vibrant,uniquely American Catholicism being born. Highly recommended as a look back into a cherished past and a window on what it became.
