Touch of Seduction

Aiden Shrader is a tiger shifter and a Watchman. As a Watchman, Aiden protects the innocent and the weak - this is something he does not only because of his vocation, but also because of his past. As a child, Aiden had been sold. Purchased by a harsh man, he was made to do things he really didn't want to do. Ever since he escaped, Aiden has made sure he controls his own destiny - that is until he is asked to find and bring in a human woman and a child with special gifts. Olivia Harcourt is a schoolteacher now out of her element - to protect her niece from the same things that killed her sister - the Casus. Olivia has no idea who they are or where they are, but she knows she has to get her niece to the Watchmen or she will die, too. Olivia fears that time has run out when she is tackled by a man with golden eyes and a to die for body, only to discover that he is there for them. Attraction between Aiden and Olivia is instant but Aiden is fighting it for some reason. Aiden screamed off the page from the beginning, and when he first sees Olivia, I could see this was going to be a bumpy ride. I was so right! The passion smoldered and sparked every time Aiden and Olivia were together. The fight with the Casus and others takes a serious turn for all the Watchmen, while at the same time Aiden is trying to figure out why Olivia affects him so much. I fell for Aiden long ago and hoped he would get a mate worthy of him and Olivia was certainly the one. I have always known that I would get a great plot and lots of heat when I opened up one of Rhyannon's books, but she blew me away with Touch of Seduction. It's one of the hottest books I have read in a while and I plan on re-reading it very soon. With the new facts revealed here, I can't wait for my next adventure into the Primal Instincts world. I really enjoyed this story if only for Aiden's extra alpha and super sexy character.

4 ½ stars Touch of Surrender's smoldering sexuality highlights this continuation in Rhyannon Byrd's 4th Primal Instinct Series. As the Watchman, Aiden finally meets his match in the unlikely but spunky human Olivia. Aiden is a feared tiger-shifter and member of the dangerous and deadly Watchmen. An organization bent on protecting the earth and it's innocent from the evil Casus. But he is disgruntled when he discovers he has been assigned to find and protect a human and her witch niece (Jamie) from the Casus. (The Casus want the power Jamie can provide.) Rhyannon Byrd starts this story with Olivia and her niece, Jamie already in danger and on the point of fleeing from the Casus. Aidan plans on saving them and then ditching them with his fellow Watchmen. He has no use for humans and likes their company even less. But his sudden and inexplicable attraction to Olivia overturns his plans. Aiden soon finds himself eating his own words and volunteering to protect her and the precious niece she guards! But the more time he spends with them the more Aiden realizes that he wants to be with Olivia and he plans to take her any way he can get her.... Lucky, lucky ,Olivia! I really enjoyed this story if only for Aiden's extra alpha and super sexy character. I haven't read a hero I've felt such an attraction to in a long time. He exemplifies the words 'sex on a stick'... yum! Aiden is troubled and highly sexy. A lethal combination for the reader who loves a little bit of the bad boy in their heroes. But when it comes to justice and helping people Aiden may act tough but he always does the right thing. I loved how Rhyannon Byrd really knows how to keep the heat and attraction between the main characters simmering as Aiden's animal magnetism and blatant masculinity smolders off the page. Aidan really pursues Olivia and shows her how attractive he finds her. I loved how he flirted with her, tempting and teasing Olivia but never pushing himself on her. I can't think of any other way to describe some of their scenes together except to say, carnal. Although Olivia is human she has ties to the paranormal world because her 2 other sisters are witches. While her sisters are beautiful and powerful, Olivia has been the opposite and she has settled. She feels she has had to be the voice of reason in the family and often felt like the underachieving, ugly duckling. I liked that Olivia already knew about the Watchmen and the Casus so this book didn't feel slowed down by explanations. And although she doesn't have super powers, her knowledge and experiences help Olivia maintain her ground against Aiden and the other paranormal characters in the story. It was great to read how she makes Aidan reevaluate his perceptions about humans and their worth. This was a super sexy novel that was fast paced and easy to read. Will Aiden be able to hide his tiger-shifter powers from being exposed to Olivia and thus, frightening her? Or does the thought of unleashing the cat underneath his skin make her purr? A thrilling, sensual story that will have you on the edge of your seat with nonstop action, I enjoyed every minute of Touch of Seduction by Rhyannon Bryd. For readers of paranormal romance, it's a first-class adventure from beginning to the end. A major bonus point for the author providing a list of glossary of terms so as to not confuse the reader, especially since if, like me, this is your first foray into the Watchmen series. It made it easy to catch up to speed. A fascinating tale, be sure to consider picking up a copy of Touch of Seduction

Paranormal Romance

I have had a tendency lately to be skeptical of all the new series similiar to the BDB, The Breed, and The Changlings. This book however, is a great new set. I have never read anything else by this author but I am now ordering the previous novels since this is #4. Although it is in the genre of the others it is a very good read. I didn't keep compareing it to others I have read. Aiden is a Shapeshifter. He is a Tiger, but keeps knowledge about himself on the dl. I liked him very much, he is conflicted by things that happened to him as a child and is unwilling to trust any human completely. He really doesn't care for humans. He is a protector, a member of the Watchmen. He is sent to find and protect a young witch, and her step-aunt who is human. Olivia Harcourt is Jamie's aunt, Jamie's mother has been killed by the leader of the Casus and their allies. They are dedicated to killing the Watchmen, the organization of Others, and anyone else who gets in their way. Olivia tries to live just a normal human existance, but is quickly drawn into the war between the supernaturals. She thinks of herself as plain and plump and never expects the gorgeous, hunk that comes to save her niece, will change her life, her existance, and her image of herself. The action is good, the romance is HOT!! The story is better than most I have read lately. A great new series.

excellent romantic urban fantasy

Realizing she cannot keep Jamie safe from evil as every malevolent paranormal wants her niece's witch blood, Olivia puts her trust and her beloved relative reluctantly in Aidan's hands. A loner who was once sold into captivity, Aiden knows deep into his primal instincts that Olivia is his eternal soul mate, but he distrust everyone since his days of bondage. The latest on the "Edge" Primal Instincts romantic urban fantasy is a terrific entry that moves the forward the overarching war between the ancient evils and the Watchmen keeping clans like the Casus in line yet also provides a warm tender love story. Filled with action, readers will enjoy the newest tale as Aidan knows Olivia is his forever, but he cannot cope with a forever; while Olivia knows the enigmatic shapeshifter is her eternal love. Both understand Jamie comes before sorting out their feelings. This is another winner from Rhyannon Byrd. Harriet Klausner
