Totally Dead: A Nostalgia Core 80's Mystery

By Magnolia Murdersworth

She can't remember who she is. But she knows a killer when she sees one.

Los Angeles, 1985. Chanel Chase wakes up in the massive concrete halls of LA County Hospital with no memory of her past, a head injury, and a broken leg. The only clue to her identity is a tarnished silver locket containing a faded photograph of a child at a carnival and a weird obsession with finding the perfect chocolate milkshake.

When the head pharmacist is found murdered in his office, hospital orderly Eddie Martinez becomes the obvious suspect. Security cameras caught him in the pharmacy the night before, and stolen prescription bottles were found in his locker. Case closed, according to Detective Ray Burner.

But Chanel saw what really happened that night-and Eddie's shocked reaction doesn't match someone who committed murder.

In an era before cell phones and digital records, Chanel must rely on old-school detective work to uncover the truth. Trapped in the sterile corridors where everyone is a potential suspect and no one believes the woman with no past, she must race against time to prove Eddie's innocence before the real killer strikes again.

Perfect for fans of Louise Penny and Tana French, Totally Dead introduces an unforgettable new detective whose greatest mystery might be herself.
