Gulshan Nanda, an Urdu writer, belongs to a generation of Punjabi Hindus who grew up in the cradle of Urdu Culture. His novels, being popular fiction, have a record of selling thousands of copies in a specific era. Films have also been made on several of his novels. "Toote Pankh (Broken wings)" is a memorable novel of his in which both the kindness and cruelty of human relationships were successfully depicted. A woman who killed her husband in the greed of wealth, but the responsibility of raising her children was taken up by the younger brother of the deceased. Then, what legal and illegal methods this woman tried to get her children, this novel tells the story of the ups and downs of human emotions.
